Spatial distribution of identified masses in both ion modes on consecutive tissue sections. Masses detected in positive and negative ion mode are indicated with a red plus and blue minus sign, respectively. These sections derive from patient nr. 11 (Supplementary Table S1). For clarity, tissue edges are outlined with a black border. Note that the cancer region also contains some stroma finely mixed with cancer cells that could not be annotated separately.
